‘Bright Nights’ (Helle Nächte) is an atlas that deals with the fact, that there is no area left in Germany that ist not affected by artificial illumination. ‘Helle Nächte’ shows a (typo-)graphic translation of artificial lighting in public spaces across Darmstadt. The graphics, shaped by the unknown factor ‘x’, are accompanied by fragments of text from scientific reports, articles, and self written notes, dealing with the effects of artificial light on flora, fauna, and human inhabitants. 52 pages, 297×420mm
