Growth through division (Wachstum durch Teilung)

This project is based on the number ‘2’. The underlying principle is that of dichotomy, which influences the biological and spiritual world in many ways. ‘2’ describes the first division and becomes the law of growth, of life. If one looks at the reproduction, the breakage of a fruit to release the seeds, the necessary harmony between give and take, the poles left/right and above/below, through which a surface is described, one sees: dichotomy requires physical and spiritual growth. This work represents these principles using an area of ​​approx. 2 square meters. It brings about growth in space, the shrinking format makes the process of division visible. The DIN format enables the DNA (format proportion) to be passed on in full to each section. The same rubber bands limit the stacks - there are also limits to growth…
